Mystery of the Forbidden Planet

“I wanted to write this story because I thought there could be other planets in the universe.” by Jacob, Age 10

What’s Mali Ominis?

“Did you know that people who went to the forbidden planet never came back?” Ryan said ominously. That was my best friend.

“What is it called?” I asked him.

He responded, “Mali Ominis.”

“My father has been researching this planet lately,” I replied. “I wonder if we can go. He knows where it is located, and he’s an astronaut.”

It was time for lunch, so I went as fast as I could. I went to the school cafeteria to get my lunch, which looked disgusting. “Beef stew, again?” I complained. The kitchen staff nodded as I walked away to Ryan. “You want my food?” I asked Ryan. He took the tray and dumped it onto his. Kaiden appeared at our table, who is my other best friend.

“Yo guys. I’m planning to go to the forbidden planet today,” I tell them.

They said together, “Good luck.” I nodded.

I waited 10 minutes before the bell rang. I jolted to science class. Luckily, Ryan was in my class. Mrs. Gabriel was talking so much, but I couldn’t hear her because I was zoned out. She tapped my desk hard, and then said, “NOTES PLEASE!” Luckily the bell saved me before I got a detention slip.

Heading Home

I sped home on my bike, and then burst into my dad’s research room. His work was scattered all over. “I want to go to Mali Ominis,” I demanded of him.

“It could help me with my research,” he said, shrugging his shoulders. “This weekend we’ll go. OK?” I nodded, and then went to do my homework.

The week went by rather fast. On Saturday, I woke him up at 6:09 am. Dad puts his glasses on trying to see my face more clearly. I shouted in his face, “LET’S GO!” He nods and we drive to NASA.

“Um, your son can’t go,” The manager said.

“Please, I WANT TO GO TO MALI OMINIS,” I screech.

“Fine,” he says. I jumped in excitement.

We got on board. Tons of people starred at the rocket. It was about to take off. We headed towards the sky. Before I looked out of the window, we were already in space. A few hours passed by. I looked out the window again and saw Mali Ominis.

We landed and the trees weren’t green. They were blue. The sky was green, and the clouds were black. There were tons of creatures all around us. They had sharp teeth, fierce as sharks. They started to attack. Luckily, they were not very strong. They were very small, so I started to kick them away. They went flying like a soccer ball. There were so many from each direction. My dad tried to scramble away. He tripped on a supernatural creature and they took him.

Now I was stranded there. All I could do was wait for the rescue people. THE END
