Overview

Since 2007, BAZOOF!™ has elevated young voices—publishing youth stories, poetry, and articles while mentoring emerging writers. With nearly twenty years of publishing expertise, BAZOOF!™ is now transforming that passion into an empowering fundraising program.

Tell Me More!

BAZOOF!™ Fundraising offers 40% of custom book sales, written by students and guided by their teacher or librarian. It’s a perfect ADD-ON fundraiser to other favourites due to its simple structure and time to handle. A designated amount of books are produced across the country, with sales also coming on a national level as students purchase books from another province, as well as their own. Here’s what is involved for the Parent Council:

(1) Faciliate in choosing the class or group of students that will complete the submission, representing thier school.
(2) Share fundraiser news and the progress of the submission through the school’s usual social channels
(3) Distribute a take-home sales notice to the students when it’s time to place orders
(4) Distribute the books when they arrive to the school, which are grouped in classes.

Everything else runs smoothly in the background. It will be one of the easiest and most rewarding fundraisers you’ve done!

A collaborative journey

To start, Parent Councils choose a time frame to hold the fundraiser when BAZOOF!™ is presently running the program across Canada. The fundraiser will be available in fall 2026 and spring 2027. To provide your input in what time frame could work best for your school, please complete the SURVEY.

Planning & Preparing

The Parent Council invites a class to submit to a magazine-style book for ages 7-12. On learning about the fundraiser, a teacher or teacher-librarian may also express interest to be involved.

A Variety of Submissions

Submissions enter the imaginary world and characters of BAZOOF!™ to include articles such as weather patterns, short stories, and computer science, poetry, recipes, sports write-ups, service projects, interviews, pets, world news, music, eco education, and much more!

An experience like no other!

Generally, only 1 to 2 books are published per province or geographical group. Each book will have a theme represented on its cover. Each book will be unique, rich with content, and provide hours of enjoyment to its readers.

Publishing Like the Pros

Every School Council involved will have a submission entered in the book by its students. The book submissions are designed, polished, and prepared for press by BAZOOF!’s expert team.

All follow the process!

Milestones of the book’s progress will be shared through the school’s usual social channel. PLUS, BAOOF!™ will provide a channel where all schools participating across the country can see what others are doing and cheer eachother along!

Easy ordering process

Parents and friends place orders for the books online. Since there will be other schools participating in the same time frame across the country, orders can be taken for one another’s books as well.

For savings and to organize orders, a school code is assigned so books will be shipped as a group to each participating school. Plus, orders will be grouped by classes. Friends & Family who want the books shipped directly to them will also have that option.

Book sales from across the country will be available for a designated block of time, after which it will be CLOSED. Having a limited time window that books can be purchased will drive sales and add value.

The joy of new books!

Once the shipment arrives at the schools, all books ordered with the assigned school code are distributed by the parent council to the parents and students. Orders will be divided into class groups. The inspirational power, to see a youth-driven project go from concept to realization, will go far!

Sale Boosters!

BAZOOF!™ will be inviting Library Associations and other interest groups to place book orders during the same ordering time frame. The 40% remit for these sales and any others that are delivered directly to the buyer, will be divided evenly between the participating schools in each province or geographical group.

Plus, BAZOOF!™ educational products and fun stuff for ages 0-12, can be added to the shopping cart.  Remit will be 30% and products are delivered to the schools within approximately three weeks of orders taken. BAZOOF!™ products designated as pre-sales will be delivered soon as possible. The custom books will be the PRIMARY focus of fundraiser, with BAZOOF!™ products providing an additional way to increase funds raised with very little extra effort!

Questions? Please visit FAQs. REGISTER or REACH OUT to receive more information. Please share the invitation with other parent councils, as the more who are involved, the more funds can be raised for each school. It’s a NATIONAL movement!

What educators are saying about BAZOOF!™

BAZOOF!™ has worked with students, teachers, and librarians since 2007—and continues to today! Here are  a few of their comments:

My grade 3/4 students loved the challenge of creating a story as a whole-class project. BAZOOF! was supportive and responsive to my questions and helped guide me along the way. Clear and achievable deadlines were provided that helped the students practice goal setting and time management. Through the process, students also learned about the importance of proofreading, drafts, and editing.

Shelley Sherwood, TeacherVancouver, BC

Our experience with BAZOOF! was highly positive. My Grade 3 students not only fulfilled curriculum expectations, but they were also able to share their work through the publication. The students were engaged, enthusiastic and excited throughout the entire process. We are very thankful for the opportunity to work with them.

Elaine Young, TeacherToronto, ON

It's been an absolute pleasure working with the team at BAZOOF! My fourth and fifth-grade library patrons have learned about the submission process, following guidelines, uploading files, making requested edits, and checking professional proofs. Their hard work paid off! Our school staff, students, and families were incredibly impressed. Thanks for inspiring and encouraging their dreams, BAZOOF!

Being published by BAZOOF!, between the ages of 8 and 12, has helped me realize my potential as a writer. I wouldn't be where I am right now had I not learned from a young age that I enjoy communications and creativity, so that detail itself affected my pursuits in life.

Sabrina Blandon, WriterNew York, NY

My experience working with BAZOOF! has been 100% positive. My students have learned skills in writing, editing and publishing. They have felt pride and professionalism. They have enjoyed real-life experience beyond the confines of the classroom. The skills that they have learned will endure long past their grade 6/7 year.
