How are Those Chompers Doing?
“Hello, earthling! Is this your first time to the center? I’m Nurse Sniggles and I’m here to show you what we do here. As you can see, this center is a very kid-friendly place! There are puzzle books you can enjoy while you are waiting, plus a healthy snack station where you’ll find something to munch on. I know you love munching! When you’re done your checkup, you can visit the Space Smoothie Bar on your way out! And just because you like to munch, I had a few things I wanted to chat with you about!
Follow me down this hall. Just around this corner. Now have a seat on this chair. Open wide and let’s take a look at those chompers! I’ve seen lots of teeth here at the center, but never ones as extravagant as yours! Say, ahhhh.
Very good! Let’s practice how to floss your teeth. Flossing is a very important way to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Slip the dental floss between each tooth and along the gumline gently at least once a day. The floss gets rid of food that’s hidden where your toothbrush can’t reach, no matter how well you brush! Here, give it a try!
Great job! After flossing, it’s time to brush your teeth. Try to spend at least two minutes each time you brush. One way you can do that is pick your favorite song from a playlist and brush as long as the song lasts! Brush one tooth at a time and try to do a really good job. Rinse them well, and then I’ll take you to the next part of your checkup.” (To continue your visits with Nurse Sniggles, see upcoming issues of BAZOOF!)
Did you know your mouth produces an average of 1 to 2 quarts of saliva (spit) each day? In a lifetime, that is enough to fill two swimming pools!
