Doom Kitty

Ellie, Joni and Doom Kitty

“I’m Ellie, and this is my little sister, Joni. I’m seven years old, and Joni is 5. We wanted to show you our pet cat. She is female, and we named her ‘Doom Kitty.’ Doom Kitty is now a year old. We call her ‘Doom’ for short. We rescued her six months ago from the SPCA! We both really enjoy rescuing animals. When I grow up, I want to be a Veterinarian and work for the SPCA or Wild ARC.

Wild ARC

Wild ARC stands for ‘Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre.’ They help injured, orphaned, sick and distressed animals so that they can heal and return to their home in the wild. I’m the one that feeds Doom, but I don’t like to scoop the litter box. Doom is an indoor cat. Did you know that indoor birds and cats usually live longer than those who don’t?

Skateboarding with Doom

The SPCA said Doom was a ‘Somali.’ That is a type of breed. Doom Kitty likes to skateboard. So we put her on the board, and she’ll stay on it for a while because she thinks it’s fun. Doom sleeps with me in my room. I named her after my favourite book series ‘Ruby Gloom.’ I hope you have fun with your pets too!

A Good Choice

Rescuing a pet from an organization like the SPCA is a great way to bring a furry friend to your family. If you have a rescue pet, what has your experience been like with them? You could share your story by sending it to B!
