Aleah’s Comic Fun!
Check out Aleah’s (Age 13) comic about some superhero cats and a mouse! Her school class did a comic project, and the teacher sent in the class’s top comics to BAZOOF! Aleah was excited to have her comic published and shared with other youth who enjoy writing comics.
After you enjoy her comic, read her interview at the end to learn where she came up with some of her ideas!

BAZOOF!: What are some of your hobbies?
Aleah: I like to draw, read, and do other art things.
B!: Do you like to play any sports?
Aleah: I do gymnastics and am on a performance team at a gymnastics club.
B!: Do you play any musical instruments? If so, which ones?
A: I play the flute and I sing. I enjoy music because it’s fun and it makes me happy!
B!: Where did you come up with the idea for your comic?
A: The idea came from a show I once watched called Lab Rats, and I thought it would be fun to do a version of it, but with cat characters.
B!: Have you ever drawn a comic before?
A: No. Some of the characters I made up have backstories but no full comics.
B!: What did you enjoy about putting this comic together? What did you find challenging?
A: I liked creating the character’s personalities and making up how they looked. I found it hard to outline and colour everything.
B!: Why do you think creating comics is a great activity for youth?
A: I think comics are really fun, and it feels good when you have finished making them.
Send in a Comic!
If you enjoy comics and want to be a part of the publishing experience in Planet GLAK, try writing a short one and sending it in. You could even try to write another episode of these superhero cats! For a chance to have your comic published, send your story to B!
