Believing in the existence of fairies, magic—and dragons has always been a fascinating topic for youth. Pete’s Dragon is a story of a boy and a green dragon. This movie is a remake of the 1977 film of the same name by Disney. Grace works as a forest ranger. Her father, Mr. Meacham, has delighted children for years with his tales of a fierce dragon that lives deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. She thought his stories were tall tales—until she met Pete. When Grace was looking for 11-year-old Natalie, whose father owns the local lumber mill, Pete was discovered. He is a mysterious 10-years-old boy with no family and no home.
Grace takes Pete to town and notices how everything seems to be unfamiliar to him. He tries to escape and get back to the woods but he doesn’t make it. After being found again, he tells Grace that he lives in the woods with a giant green dragon named Elliot. Surprisingly, the dragon in his story is very similar to one in her father’s fables. At first she thought she’d try to adopt Pete, but changes her mind. She promises to take him to the forest and begins to look for the truth of the dragon.
Elliot, the dragon, actually knew where Pete was and wanted to help bring him back. But he notices how kind people are to Pete and how happy he looks. He thinks Pete will be happier with his new friends and family than with him in the woods, and he returns to his cave. But it doesn’t end there. Elliot is in danger of malicious plans being made to capture him.
Pete and Elliot—will they ever be together again? What is best for both of them? Enjoy the movie to find out!
