Do you have any pets? When you aren’t home, do you know what they are doing with their time? If you’re curious, then head to the cinema and watch The Secret Life of Pets. With this film having the same producers as Minions, there is a new Minions film to enjoy before the movie. So you can watch two fun animations at the same time!
A terrior named Max luxuriously lives with his owner Katie in Manhattan. He hangs out with tabby cat Chloe, pug Mel, dachshund Buddy, and budgerigar Sweet Pea. One day, Katie adopts Duke, a large and shaggy dog from the pound, leaving Max terribly jealous. Angry by how Max has been treating him, Duke tricks Max into travelling far into the city. They end up getting attacked by a cat gang in an alley. The cats remove Max and Duke’s collars and the dogs are caught by Animal Control. No Duke fears that he will be put down if he goes back to the pound.
They end up being rescued by a rabbit named Snowball, the leader of “The Flushed Pets”, a cult who hates humans because its members were abandoned and mistreated by them. After Max and Duke pretend to despise humans, the Flushed Pets invite them to join. Snowball learns from the alley cats that Max and Duke are pets, so they quickly make an escape into the city to get away from the Snowball and the gang.
Max and Duke begin to get along with each other. Duke tells Max about his elderly previous owner Fred. He adopted Duke as a puppy and raised him, but Duke got lost chasing a butterfly one day and was taken by Animal Control. He couldn’t understand why Fred never came looking for him. Max convinces Duke to go back to Fred’s home and learn some sad news. Trouble continues to happen between these two, but do they ever become trusted friends and return to life with Katie?
